INSTAGRAM wednesdays: WHILE you were WORKING

Dustin and I currently work opposite schedules.  When he gets home from work, I head out the door to start my shift.  Needless to say, we spend a lot of time talking on the phone, texting, etc., as a way to keep in touch while we're apart.

This is a pretty accurate example of the sorts of things we talk about.  You know, really pressing matters.  Life altering, even.

I adore my husband. 

INSTAGRAM wednesdays: DECOR by LL

My youngest daughter LL is so busy.  I can't keep up with her.  She is a little bundle of destruction!  She roams our house getting into any and everything she can.

A favorite adventure of hers is raiding the fridge.  I'm always amazed at what I find throughout my house.

While I love my little LL, she can drive me crazy.  I don't want to get a lock for the fridge, but it may end up getting to that point!

INSTAGRAM wednesday: a LOVE NOTE

Every once in awhile, Dustin will write me love notes.  He'll fold it like a genius, {which in theory is super cute, but usually only reminds me of the horrible experiences I had doing origami in school} and usually the note is simple and sweet.

It's the little things in life that matter most, and the-fear-of-origami-love-notes certainly can brighten my day.

INSTAGRAM wednesdays: HOME

I had the idea a few months ago to hang pictures of all the different homes we've lived in over the years.  This is a picture of the first house Dustin and I lived in together as a married couple.  It's fun to see it everyday and to remember what life was like all those years ago.

There's a really good chance that I totally and completely LOVE my daughter's hair.

INSTAGRAM wednesday: CHRISTMAS

Christmas has officially arrived at our house.  We didn't necessarily choose to wait until December to put our tree up, but since we did I think we'll continue doing that each year.  It's nice to keep the holidays separate as much as possible.

Here is our tree.  Every single ornament is 100% shatterable and nothing about the tree is kid-friendly, but we refuse to put up anything else.  So far, Isabelle is very good about not playing with it.  I thank my lucky stars for that.

Maybe one day we'll have one just for Isabelle that's a bit more age appropriate.  But, for now, she's going to have to suffer with our pre-kid tree because we just love it too much not to display it.

INSTAGRAM wednesday: DANCE CLASS

Dance class was a huge success.

I think I'm more excited for her to go to class again today than she is.

INSTAGRAM wednesday: TECH GEEKS

Dustin frequently travels for work.  Most of the time, he returns home at a decent hour.  His last trip was a different story with his flight not landing until close to midnight.

I knew I would be asleep when he got home.  I also knew he'd hit up the iPad and browse Facebook before coming to bed.

So, I left him a little message.

He's since left me messages too. 

I guess we're a bit nerdy, but it works for us!

INSTAGRAM wednesday: MASTERPIECE

One of the things I'm working on as a mom is letting things get a bit messy.  I tend to keep Isabelle away from crafts that I know will require a lot of cleanup.  I know that my attitude is wrong and that I should let her engage in all sorts of activities despite what sort of work is involved for me when the fun is all over.

Yesterday, we played with paint.  And it took me a good 20-30 minutes to get things cleaned up.

But I know she loved painting and creating because she asked to paint first thing this morning.

And how can I deprive my little girl of her masterpieces?

INSTAGRAM wednesdays: feeling SICK

We had one sick little girl over the weekend.  

Children's Tylenol helped, but obviously the best medicine is being held by Daddy.

INSTAGRAM wednesdays: the NEW RULE

Our dogs {Tod and Sammie} love to beg for food.  I guess that's pretty typical, but it drives me absolutely nuts.

The other day I decided to put an end to them hanging out underneath the table while we eat meals.  Their command is CARPET because all of our downstairs area is hardwood with the exception of an area rug in our family room.  By being on the carpet, they are far enough away so that we're not disturbed, but close enough to still feel apart of the family.

Regardless, they're not happy about our new rule; however, I'm loving it!

INSTAGRAM wednesdays: SNOWBIRD

My grandparents have a timeshare at the Snowbird Resort in Utah.  And they graciously share their accommodations with everyone in the family.  I only managed to take one picture during our visit, but what a beautiful picture it is!

There's something about the daddy/daughter relationship that I just can't put into words.

INSTAGRAM wednesdays: HAIRCUT...big time

It never fails.  We always go too long before we schedule an appointment for our Cocker Spaniel to go to the groomers.  

This is usually the end result.

INSTAGRAM wednesdays: SUMMER memory

It's officially summertime!  Last year, Isabelle fell asleep on the stairs while wearing her swimsuit.  It is probably my favorite memory from last year.  I just had to share it again.

I also love how Sammie {the dog} is just staring at her, as if to say, "I'm the only one allowed to sleep on the stairs."

INSTAGRAM wednesdays: a DRAWING app

I found an app that is perfect for Isabelle to use as a drawing board.  She loves to draw smiley faces.  She also loves to take a picture of all her drawings.  This makes for interesting times whenever I'm browsing through our pictures on the iPod.

She's a fun little girl and I'm glad she loves to draw.

Easter is still lingering in our household.

To consume or not to consume.  That is the question.

INSTAGRAM wednesdays: D is for DOGS

We have two dogs.  Sammie, the crazy Cocker Spaniel and Tod the mutt.  Tod is a rescue dog, so we're really not sure what he is exactly.

Most days, time with the dogs is great.  Other days (like when I find them sleeping on my recently washed linens), I have to look at fun pictures I've taken of them to remind myself that they really are good dogs.
